about THE CBC

The Charles Brooks Collective is the South's explosive newest experimental jazz-fusion group known for their modern improvisatory techniques and their mind-blowing performance experiences. Influenced by musical greats like Herbie Hancock, the late Miles Davis, The Weather Report, Jimi Hendrix, and Pat Methany, the Collective's modern improvisatory techniques combine with traditional jazz harmonies as melodies fuse with modern rhythmic application influenced by world music, thereby taking audiences on quite the experiential journey with their eclectic celebration of music.

The Collective features a rotation of classically trained musicians from different locations across the South and is led by Charles Brooks.

The Collective's debut show took place in February 2017 at Dyson House Listening Room in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to a sold-out crowd. In 2021, The Collective moved its home base to the Muscle Shoals area of NW Alabama and has since played several shows, including Handy Fest and two Black History Month tribute shows: Jimi Hendrix (2022) and Stevie Wonder (2023).

The Charles Brooks Collective looks to play more shows, festivals, and events in 2024.
